Primary care physicians and physician extenders are often the first points of contact for patients, regardless of the nature of their problem. Providers face increasing demands to recognize and treat conditions from HIV to eye issues, understand when to refer patients to specialists, communicate those treatments and services to insurance providers and keep up-to-date with the rapid changes in medical technology. Changes in Medicare RVUs and quality measures will be addressed, as well as prescribing guidelines for medications such as mBAs.
At the conclusion of this program, the participants should be able to:
Nexplanon is an effective long-term removable contraceptive that is easily inserted in the upper arm during a simple office procedure. An optional, pre-conference workshop will be held in conjunction with the Primary Care Conference that allows you to become certified in administering Nexplanon injections (additional fees apply). No CME credit will be given for this training, however, a training certificate will be given upon completion.
Optional Non-CME Nexplanon Insertion Workshop will be held Friday, April 5, 2019

Pharmacists: The University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. Successful completion of this application-based activity will provide a statement for four & 3/4 (4.75) live contact hours credit (0.475 CEUs) and will be mailed within 3 weeks following the activity. NOTE: Only Friday is certified for pharmacy credit.
NABP e-PROFILE ID NUMBER: Your CE credits will also be submitted electronically to NABP. Pharmacists with questions regarding their NABP e-Profile or CPE Monitor should refer to the FAQ section on the NABP website. To receive credit for your participation in this course, all pharmacists must include their NABP e-Profile ID number, along with their month and date of birth. If incorrect information is provided, this will result in “rejected” status from the CPE Monitor. It is the responsibility of the participant to notify The University of Tennessee (within the 60 day submission timeframe) of their corrected information. Otherwise, the completed CE will not be accepted by the CPE Monitor.
Additionally, ACPE has initiated a new policy stating that if a participant does not supply their NABP # and/or date of birth in a timely manner and late submission is requested, there will be a $200 fee assessed for late submission permission.
