Dr. Rajiv Dhand and Dr. J. Francis Turner Achieve ATS Fellow Designation
The American Thoracic Society (ATS) recently honored Rajiv Dhand, MD, Chair of Department of Medicine, and Dr. J. Francis Turner, Jr., MD, Vice-Chair of the Department of Medicine, with ATS fellow designation. This is the first time that ATS has offered this fellowship. The designation recognizes members for their accomplishments, demonstrated dedication to the Society and noteworthy contributions in the fields of pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine.
The Office of Research and Engagement’s third annual Research Integrity and Compliance Awards celebrated faculty, staff, and students who practice excellence in safety and compliance areas every day.
“These awards were created to highlight the value and importance of shared governance, which lays the foundation for UT’s continued success,” said Robert Nobles, DrPH, Interim Vice Chancellor for Research and Engagement. “I am indebted to those who contribute to our research integrity, safety, and compliance infrastructure, and appreciate their dedication.”
Michael Karlstad, PhD, Professor of Surgery and Director of the Shock Trauma and Nutrition Laboratory, and won the 2018 award for Promoting Animal Care and Use.
Residents Welcomed at Reception
The UT Graduate School of Medicine welcomed 82 new residents and fellows into its programs at a New Resident and Fellow Reception and Awards Ceremony June 28.
