New Residency Program Directors Named for Radiology, OB/GYN, and Urology

New program directors have been named for the Diagnostic Radiology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Urology Residency programs at the University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine.

Ian Gray, MD, Associate Professor, is now Program Director for Radiology. Dr. Gray received his medical degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine and his MBA degree at the University of Memphis Fogelman College of Business. He trained as a resident in diagnostic radiology at the UT Methodist Hospital and as a fellow in neuroradiology at the Barrow Neurologic Institute in Phoenix, Arizona. He has served on the faculty at The Ohio State University College of Medicine and at the UT College of Medicine. Dr. Gray was appointed to the UT Graduate School of Medicine faculty in July 2018.


Kristopher Kimball, MD, Associate Professor, is now Program Director for Obstetrics and Gynecology. He received his medical degree from Vandebilt School of Medicine and completed an OB/GYN Residency at the University of Alabama School of Medicine. He also completed a fellowship in gynecologic oncology at the University of Alabama School of Medicine and then joined the UT Graduate School of Medicine faculty in 2010. Dr. Kimball has earned the Association of Gynecology and Obstetrics (APGO) Excellence in Teach Award three times and other teaching recognitions within the department and began serving as Associate Residency Program Director in 2015.


John Lacy, MD, Assistant Professor, is now Program Director for Urology. He graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina, completed his residency training in Urology at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, and a fellowship in Male Genitourinary Reconstruction and Prosthetics at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. He joined the UT Graduate School of Medicine faculty in 2016 and has been served as an Associate Program Director since 2018. Dr. Lacy has also been the Clerkship Director of Urology, earning recognition for his leadership and commitment to medical student education.
