Second Annual Medicine Conference Examines Primary Care Issues

Second Annual Medicine UpdateRegistration is now open for the Second Annual Medicine Conference: Today's Technology and Treatment Trends, a continuing medical education conference set for February 29-March 1, 2014, at the University of Tennessee Conference Center, Knoxville, Tennessee. The conference is approved for AMA, AAPA, AAFP and ACPE credits and CEUs. Register today.

Primary care providers are faced with progressively complex medical issues and treatment strategies for a population that is aging, requiring increasing demands on a relatively stable provider base. The Annual Medicine Conference will address these pressing issues: management of acute stroke, osteoporosis evaluation and treatment, changes in lung cancer screening guidelines, principles of peripheral neuropathy evaluation, evaluation and management of atrial fibrillation, enhancing office based end-of-life decisions, motivational interviewing techniques, and recognizing signs and treatment options for celiac disease.

The conference is well suited for primary care physicians, physician assistants, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, nurses and allied health professionals. It is sponsored by the UT Graduate School of Medicine and directed by Daniel Ely, MD, and Russell Smith, MD. A reduced early-registration fee is available through February 15, 2013.
