Medical Student Housing
The University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine provides housing for the College of Medicine students electing to participate in rotations on the Knoxville campus. Priority for housing is first to the M3 students on a first come-first serve basis and then to M4 students based on availability. M3s are limited to 6 months occupancy (3 clerkships).
Currently, we have five (5) 2BR units and one (1) 3 BR unit located at Volunteer Hall on the main campus of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and approximately 5 minutes from the UT Medical Center. Therefore, we can house up to 13 students per block.
Townhouses include:
- Fully furnished living room with a sofa, oversized easy chair, coffee and end tables, entertainment center and 9ft ceilings with ceiling fan.
- Each bedroom includes a private full size bath, keyed entry for privacy, full-sized bed with extra drawer storage underneath bed, 4-drawer dresser, and closet.
- Kitchen with microwave, dishwasher, frost-free refrigerator with icemaker, stove with range, garbage disposal, washer/dryer, and a spacious pantry.
- Half bath on main living level.
- Utilities, cable, high speed internet.
Complex amenities include:
- Gated garage parking with limited entry access.
- Recreational facilities to include a state-of-the-art fitness center, activity center with pool tables and foosball tables, computer lab, and outdoor courtyard with picnic tables and grills.
- Onsite deli – Quizno’s.

Visiting Medical Student Housing
The UTHSC COM Knoxville campus does not provide housing for visiting medical students. Affordable, monthly rental options nearby the medical center are available upon request by contacting the Office of Student Affairs – mmaples@utmck.edu or (865) 305-9618.
