Annette M. Mendola, PhD, Instructor and Division Chief of Medical Ethics from the Department of Medicine will lead the interactive Ethics Case Rounds on Thursday, November 21. How should a physician provide care to an incapacitated patient with no friends or family willing to make medical decisions when she is admitted to the ICU with a poor prognosis? Should goals of care focus on recovery or comfort? Ethics Case Rounds are hospital-wide conversations about scenarios that cause moral distress. Discussions are aimed at developing and sharing a framework for moral decision making. Ethics Case Rounds will be held from 11:30am - 12:30pm in Wood Auditorium.
