These funding programs serve as seed programs meant to yield data that can be used to secure extramural funding.
UTMC's Brain & Spine Institute Alzheimer's Research Grant
The University of Tennessee Medical Center's Brain & Spine Institute, in conjunction with the University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine (UTGSM), it is with great excitement that as a result of a philanthropic initiative chaired by former Regal Entertainment Group and CEO Amy Miles launched on our campus in 2018, we are announcing a call for grant applications specifically related to research on Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias. New cycles are typically announced in the fall.

Cancer Institute Research Grant
As a result of a philanthropic initiative started in 2015, and on behalf of the University of Tennessee Medical Center Cancer Institute/University Health System, in conjunction with the University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine (UTGSM), it is with great excitement that we are announcing the Cancer Endowment Research Grant program for grant applications specifically related to cancer research on our campus.
New grant cycles are typically announced in the fall and available funding will vary. Prior awards have ranged from $40,000 to $10,000. Project can extend for 2 years.
Office of Clinical Trials Research Grant
The Office of Clinical Trials (OCT), a department within University Health System, Inc., is pleased to announce the OCT Research Grant Fund. The awards will be made to UHS affiliated investigators for investigator-initiated research projects. Selected research projects must demonstrate clinical significance and relevance to the University of Tennessee Medical Center and its strategic objectives.
The OCT Physician Oversight Committee (POC) will determine grant awards. Grant applications must include all documentation requested in the application form to be reviewed and considered for award. Grants will be available up to a maximum amount of $25,000. The call for proposals typically is announced in the spring.
