The Department of Surgery is pleased to announce that Mark C. Kelley, MD, Associate Professor of Surgery, Vanderbilt University Medical Center, will speak on Thursday, March 29, 2007. The lecture will be held at 7:00 am in the Morrison's Conference Room of UT Medical Center. Dr. Kelley will speak on the topic "Treatment of High Risk Melanoma: Progress or Futility?" Dr. Kelley also serves at Chief of the Division of Surgical Oncology and Endocrine Surgery at Vanderbilt. Everyone is invited to attend.

Barry A. Mizock, MD, Department of Medicine, at John Stroger Hospital of Cook County, Chicago, IL, will speak at the Surgery Department Grand Rounds. The meeting will be held at 7:00 am in the Morrison's Conference Room at UT Medical Center on Thursday, December 14, 2006. Dr. Mizock will speak on the topic, "Immunonutrition: Modulating the Immune Response to Critical Illness." Dr. Mizock also serves as Senior Physician and Associate Director of the Medical Intensive Care Unit at the John Stroger Hospital (the new Cook County Hospital).

Dr. Endean is also the Program Director for the General Surgery Residency Program at UK.
