Research Focus

By utilizing large databases, the Division of Trauma is focusing on research projects which improve outcomes in patients who sustain traumatic injuries. These projects apply to the prehospital phase, acute intervention on arrival at the hospital and the recovery phase; the goal is to find ways to define best practices and to improve the care delivered to critically injured patients in East Tennessee and in the United States at large.
