Candidate Interview Information
Sample of Days Agenda
Your interview experience at the University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine begins the evening prior to your interview day with dinner at a local restaurant with our current residents and their spouses. Plan on meeting our residents at 6:30PM in the main lobby of the Holiday Inn where transportation will be provided to the restaurant. This is a casual dinner so relax, enjoy, and get to know us.
A typical interview day begins at 7:15AM with introduction and program overview by one of our residents. Followed by a welcome from the Chairman, Mitchell H Goldman, MD and Program Director, Brian J. Daley, MD. Interviews begin at 8:00AM with each candidate completing 5 separate interviews comprised of 3 faculty members, a resident, and Dr. Brian Daley. A tour of our facility and lunch with our residents wraps up your interview day at approximately 1:30PM which gives you plenty of time to enjoy the beautiful city of Knoxville.
Hotel
The University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine will pay for one night stay at the Holiday Inn.

Note: The hospital is currently building a new cancer center and parking garage; therefore, refer to the maps for help in entering the hospital.
From I-40:
Take the Alcoa Hwy./ 129 South Exit (#386B) toward the airport. Go approximately 1 mile and take the Cherokee Trail/University Hospital Exit (at the top of the hill). Cherokee Trail exits off to the right, continue straight into the hospital complex. Please refer to the maps for help with parking and entering the hospital. Once in the main lobby you will find the information desk, gift shop and Starbucks. Turn left and follow the signage to the North Elevators. Take the North Elevators to the 2nd floor. Turn right and go through the double doors that say “No Entry” “Department of Surgery.” The 2North Conference Room is the 3rd door on the left.
From Alcoa/Airport:
