Computational Sciences and Engineering Division, Oak Ridge National Laboratory – Drs. Richard Ward and Jim Nutaro

ORNL is a multi-program science and technology laboratory managed and operated for the Department of Energy by UT-Battelle, LLC.  The Laboratory conducts research and development for DOE in basic energy sciences, biological and environmental research, fusion energy sciences, advanced scientific computing research, nuclear physics, and high-energy physics.  ORNL is a supercomputing powerhouse and has large-scale computational resources specializing in many research disciplines.

Bioimaging Unit, Center for Environmental Biotechnology, University of Tennessee Knoxville – Dr. John Biggerstaff 

The Center for Environmental Biotechnology (CEB) was established in 1986 by the Tennessee Higher Education Commission and a $1,000,000 equipment grant from the U.S. Department of Education.  Dr. Biggerstaff is faculty at the center and specializes in real-time quantitative cellular assays using high performance microscopy (spectral imaging microscopy, dual confocal scanning laser microscopy, light and epi-fluorescence, real-time video microscopy, etc.)
