Application Process

In September 2000 our Pathology Residency Program, indeed all ACGME pathology residency programs, began accepting applications via the Internet. We are currently online with the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) , developed by the Association of American Medical Colleges , and now used for almost all residency training programs in all specialties. Our program can only accept applications through the ERAS program. It is suggested that you contact your school for information about how ERAS will be processed at your institution. If you have questions, please feel free to contact Ms. Pamela C. Guider at the address or phone number given below.

Qualifying Year

Of course for those who require it, a fifth or “qualifying” year is offered. An option, which we are willing to pursue with exceptional residents, is the ability to use this fifth or certifying year to concomitantly obtain an MBA degree from The University of Tennessee School of Business.

Application Deadline

We are enrolled in the Match Program, therefore, if you are applying for a first (1st) year position, you must be enrolled in the Match by the deadline, and be interviewed no later than February.
