Tumor Boards Now Certified for Credit
Beginning in July, the weekly Pulmonary Tumor Board Series will be certified for credits from the AMA and AAPA. The series meets each Thursday, 7-8 a.m., in the Cancer Institute Conference Room, fourth floor, Building D.
This multidisciplinary series began more than 20 years ago and now will offer one continuing education credit per session. It is ideal for thoracic surgeons, pulmonologists, gastroenterologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, diagnostic radiologists, nuclear medicine physicians, pathologists, primary care physicians, nurses, pharmacists and other healthcare professionals.
Using case-based discussion, the group reviews available therapies, emerging regimens, treatment guidelines based upon national standards, clinical trials and diagnostic strategies for chest disease.
Registration is not required to attend. Tumor Boards Series is directed by Thomas Gaines, MD, Associate Professor, Department of Surgery, Chief, Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery. It is jointly sponsored by the University of Tennessee Medical Center Cancer Institute and UT Graduate School of Medicine.
