Dr. Boyd, Dr. Daley, Dr. Kim, Dr. Lewis and Dr. McKinney Are Recognized for Excellence Recognized in this issue of The Scope for Faculty Appreciation Week, held in February 2011, are Dr. James Boyd, Dr. Brian Daley, Dr. Edward Kim, Dr. James Lewis and Dr. J. Mark McKinney. James Boyd, MDAssistant Professor Radiology "Dr. Boyd is the most outstanding faculty member I have ever come across. He continuously goes the extra mile teaching and mentoring residents and always has their best interest at heart. He helps build morale and listens to the residents' concerns. He gives lectures on his day off. Time and time again, the residents praise him as being the shining example of what every faculty member should aspire to."
"Under Dr. Daley's leadership, the general surgery residency program received a five-year accreditation with no deficiencies."
"Dr. Kim goes above the standard of care to help his patients whether it involves staying late to do a procedure, driving to satellite clinics to make it convenient for the patient, or spending extra time explaining all the aspects of a new diagnosis of cancer. Dr. Kim has shown himself to be a solid mentor not only in the clinic and the operating room but also by mentoring the resident in academic publications."
James Lewis, MD "Dr. Lewis has revitalized the M3 and M4 curriculum."
J. Mark McKinney, MD "Dr. McKinney is recognized by the Radiology residents as a superb teacher. His enthusiasm for the Interventional Radiology specialty is very obvious to every resident and student. Whenever he has as little as 30 minutes between cases, he will invite residents to sit with him and review cases and answer any questions they may have."
