Third-year Family Medicine resident Kevin Ache, DO, presented his poster, "Are End-of-Life Printed Patient Health Education Materials Readable?", co-authored by Lorraine Wallace, PhD, at the North American Primary Care Research Group 36th Annual Meeting, Rio Grande, Puerto Rico, in November 2008.
Wallace Presents Results of Study: Uninsured Children
Lorraine Wallace, PhD, Professor, Family Medicine, and her colleagues from Oregon Health Science University were invited to present results of their study, "Uninsured Children with Insured Parents," at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., Oct. 21, 2008. Their paper was published in the Journal of the American Medical Association's October 2008 "Health of the Nation" issue. W. Bedford Waters, MD, Professor of Surgery/Urology, was an invited speaker at the Societe Internationale d'Urologie's World Uro-Oncology Update meeting in Santiago, Chile, Nov. 19-22, 2008. He was the moderator and a speaker at a Surgical Tips Session on Bladder Cancer, "Radical Cystectomy and Urinary Diversion." There were 1400 registered physicians in attendance.
