CMDE Conference Will Examine BRONJ
The 2011 John E. Sullivan, D.D.S. Endowed Lecture, April 6, will offer expert presentations on bisphosphonate-related osteonecrosis of the jaws (BRONJ). Salvatore L. Ruggiero, D.M.D., M.D., Clinical Associate Professor, School of Dental Medicine, SUNY at Stony Brook, New York, will present information to help primary care physicians, oral and maxillofacial surgeons and dentists understand this disease process.
The lecture will be held in Wood Auditorium, University of Tennessee Medical Center, Knoxville, Tenn., and is approved for six AMA and AGD credits. CEUs and other education credits also are available. Registration is available at www.tennessee.edu/cme/Sullivan2011.
BRONJ is a pathologic entity that is poorly understood due to the confusion surrounding its pathophysiology, diagnosis and treatment; the low number of cases of BRONJ; and the publication of anecdotal and non-scientific information.
The 2011 Sullivan Lecture is presented by the UT Graduate School of Medicine and Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Knoxville, and is directed by Eric Carlson, D.M.D., M.D. For more information, visit www.tennessee.edu/cme/Sullivan2011.
