Advance Research Digest Features the Clinical Outcomes of Research

The Summer 2013 issue of Advance emphasizes research that ultimately affects patient care and clinical outcomes in areas where the University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine has exceptional medical expertise that has earned regional and national recognition. This issue uncovers a new PET/CT scanner in use by Yong Bradley, MD, and Dustin Osborne, PhD, that has increased capabilities to diagnose diseases more accurately; features UT's new Institute of Biomedical Engineering, directed by Mohamed Mahfouz, PhD, and a device he and his collaboraters have created to diagnose lower back pain; and tells the story of how husband and wife physicians, Wesley White, MD, and Nikki Zite, MD, are influencing research in urology and obstetrics and gynecology.

Advance is published twice yearly to spotlight research programs at the UT Graduate School of Medicine and explain how the work of the institution’s researchers impacts healthcare in Tennessee and beyond. Join the Advance mailing list to receive Advance in the mail.
