Amyloid and Neurodegenerative Diseases Research Laboratory

Research Support

On-going research support comes from the National Institute of Aging of the National Institutes of Health, the American Health Assistance Foundation, the Alzheimer's Association, and the Hereditary Disease Foundation.

Ron Wetzel's Amyloid and Neurodegeneration Research Labs were initiated in 1997 by a gift from Mr. Lindsay Young of Knoxville in support of the Center for Research and Treatment of Alzheimer's Disease and Amyloid-Related Disorders.

Alzheimer's Disease Research Gift Fund has been established to provide "seed" money for promising research ideas. Donations to this fund help pay for equipment, supplies and graduate level and post-doctoral students to assist in Alzheimer's research initiatives. For more information please visit the Office of Development and Alumni Relations.
