Typical Schedule
Students are given the chance to pick their top three choices and the staff does their best to match the student with at least one of their top three. A typical six week
schedule might look something like this:
Week one: Anesthesia
Week two: Trauma Surgery
Week three: Orthopedics
Week four: Nursing
Week five: Physical Therapy
Week six: OB/GYN
What Departments Can I Choose From?
When one hears “Medical Explorations,” one might
tend to think that this program is geared only toward
those students interested in becoming doctors. However,
that is not the case. Since beginning with only six departments, Medical Explorations has grown to include many professions within the field of medicine. In addition to private practice doctors and physicians representing eight of the academic departments in the Graduate School of Medicine, students are also presented with the opportunity to learn from a variety of medical personnel including nurses, physical therapists and dietitians.
