Reference Computers
The Preston Medical Library has computers with high speed internet access available for all library users. The library staff will provide orientation and education in the use of the Internet, as well as in our our electronic databases and other resources.
Adult patient family members are welcome to use the library reference computers. Time is limited to one hour per day per person. Please read our computer use policy for more detail.
Computer Laboratory
UT Graduate School of Medicine & UT Medical Center clinical staff may use the computer laboratory in the Preston Medical Library. The Lab includes computers with DVD RW drives, and scanners capable of scanning both text and images. Software includes Microsoft Office applications, Photoshop, SPSS statistical software and Adobe Acrobat Professional.
Computer Training Classroom
The Computer Training Classroom has eight computers, a podium with teaching computer, a ceiling mounted projector and Smart Board. The training classroom may be scheduled for classes. Software includes Microsoft Office applications and SPSS statistical software. Installation of software for special training events must be scheduled several weeks in advance.
Wireless Access
The library has wireless access to the Internet using your own mobile computing device. Check out our Mobile Devices page for resources available for these devices.
Computers Available for Checkout
Laptop computers and LCD Projectors are available for checkout. This equipment circulates to UTGSM faculty, resident & academic departments only.
