The Preston Medical Library has computers with high speed internet access available for all library users. The library staff will provide orientation and education in the use of the Internet, as well as in our our electronic databases and other resources.
Adult patient family members are welcome to use the library reference computers. Time is limited to one hour per day per person.
The Computer Training Lab has 14 computers, a podium with teaching computer, a ceiling mounted projector, and the entire back wall is a whiteboard. The training lab may be scheduled for classes. Software includes Microsoft Office applications.
Laptop computers and LCD Projectors are available for checkout. This equipment circulates to UTGSM faculty, resident & academic departments only.
There are two self-service printer/copier/scanners located in the library, the one located in the Health Information Center area is also enabled for outbound faxing. Cost for copies for those paying cash is five cents per page.
The library has wireless access to the Internet using your own mobile computing device. Check out our Mobile Devices page for resources available for these devices.

The Library is proud to host routine events such as the Human-Animal Bond in Tennessee (H.A.B.I.T.) stress-reduction dog visits and Literary Rounds: Where Medicine Mingles with the Muse. Both programs support complementary and alternative initiatives at UT Medical Center and the UT Graduate School of Medicine’s narrative medicine curriculum.
