Collections - Periodicals
Preston Medical Library's periodical holdings can be searched via the Web using the UT Libraries Catalog. The Preston Medical Library titles are identified by "Preston Medical Library". For an orientation on use of the UT Libraries Catalog , please contact a library staff member.
The majority of the library's 14,189 bound volumes cover the last Fifteen Years to the present.
However, a number of core journals have been held for twenty-five or more years.
The library has an extensive list of electronic journals.
Subscriptions
The Library currently subscribes to over 250 print journal titles and over 8000 online journal titles. There are over 700 individual journal titles in the collection. Journals are shelved alphabetically by title for easy retrieval. Current periodicals are located on the library first floor. The stacks area is on the ground floor.
The library's journal collection does not circulate.
Binding
Most currently received journal titles are bound for preservation
purposes and ease of access. It takes approximately four weeks for
journals to return from the bindery. Materials currently at the
bindery are identified in the catalog with the notation "at
bindery".
