The Preston Medical Library has more than 245 audiovisual titles. Audio video resources are shelved in stacks area located on the library's ground floor along with the books.
The holdings are searchable via the UT
Libraries Catalog . Audiovisuals may be borrowed for the usual
14-day loan period.
2007 Video Board Review of Internal Medicine (DVD).
62 hours of presentations from the MedStudy 2007 Intensive Board
Review of Internal Medicine on 20 DVDs. Videos use picture-in-picture
technique so you can see, simultaneously, the speaker and all the
images he or she projected during the lecture. Includes a printed
syllabus that holds comprehensive outlines of lectures, a printout
of virtually every text, diagram and table slide the speakers used,
and the questions and answers from the Intensive pre- and post-event
Board simulation exams. DVDs have on-screen topic selection menu
for easy locating of subject matter. Accredited for a maximum of
62 AMA/PRA Category 1 CME
credits.
Surgery Board Review
The library has purchased the New
York Surgery Board Review, a collection of DVDs. This comprehensive
and intensive review is designed to help candidates complete preparation
for the American Board of Surgery qualifying, certifying and recertifying
examinations. It includes 40 lectures, with the curriculum designed
to correspond the most recent guidelines for surgical residency
programs, including do not resuscitate, end of life and other ethical
issues. The DVDs are available at the information desk.
