With the explosion of information in medicine, no clinician can know every thing. Using evidence-based medicine tools made available through the Preston Medical Library, you can answer your clinical questions, and get to links and references to useful support materials.

Internet Resources for the Health Professional

Prepared by Martha Earl for teaching specific internet resources for the health professional. Classes can be tailored to topic or professional group.

Medicine on the Internet

Finding Quality Medical Sites. This class will cover how to use Internet subject directories and other search tools to find the best of the Internet for health practitioners and researchers. Learn more about Medical Resources.

Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs)

This class will give an overview of PDA technology and types of medical software available. Learn more about PDAs.

PowerPoint Basics

A basic introduction to the use of PowerPoint for producing slides for presentations. Topics using templates, charts, tables, inserting graphics. Call to arrange a group class. Also, check out tutorials and classes available at the Knox County Public Library.

RefWorks

RefWorks is an online search tool providing a way to search bibliographic databases and retrieve references directly into your own database. RefWorks allows you to store, manage and search for bibliographic references in your private database. Check out the RefWorks tutorial.
