Interlibrary Loan
Books, journal articles, government publications, and other materials
that are not owned or are missing from the Preston Medical Library's
collection may be borrowed or photocopied from other libraries.
The requestor can take advantage of delivery via email to have the materials delivered to their desktop.
Material for pick-up will be placed in a file box in alphabetical
order by the client's name. The box is located behind at the information
desk on the first floor.
Only UT Graduate School of Medicine staff, UT Medical Center staff,
area practicing physicians or health care professionals, and subscribers
may request interlibrary loans. If you are an East Tennessee Physician,
Graduate School of Medicine or UT Medical Center staff, contact the library to set up an account or to get information regarding Loansome Doc.
How much will it cost?
There is a $11.00 charge per Interlibrary Loan for UT GSM faculty and staff.
How long will it take?
Receipt of the requested materials may take from one day to a few weeks, depending upon availability.
The requests are processed as quickly as possible.
How do I request interlibrary loan service?
UT Graduate School of Medicine, UT Medical Center staff, area practicing
physicians, and subscribers may call (305-9525), fax (305-9527),
email their requests ( library@mc.utmck.edu ) or click on the online form .
What if I am not a UT Graduate School of Medicine, UT Medical Center staff
member, or an area practicing physician?
For clients who are not eligible, the library suggests contacting the local public library OR contacting a commercial document delivery company such as those listed on these web pages:
