Books
The Medical Library's book holdings include approximately 3,594
volumes in the basic sciences, clinical medicine, and public health.
Books are shelved by call number according to the Library of Congress
classification system. The library is not an archival collection
of historical materials, so every effort is made to ensure currency
of materials. The circulation
period for textbooks is two weeks.
Access to the library's collection is available through the UT Libraries Catalog . Preston Medical Library books can be identified by "Preston Medical Library" and the call number. For orientation on use of the online catalog, please contact the library .

Newly processed books recently received by the library are shelved on the "New Book" cart in the Reading Room.
