Primary Goals: To have an interactive
discussion among peer residents about current journal articles.
Critical thinking about the articles is encouraged by faculty
members. The articles are chosen by an assigned resident. Usually
2 articles are presented at each session and various methods of
appraisal are employed.
Method of Resident Evaluation:
A checklist will be completed at the end of the session regarding
quality of article selection, method of appraisal and interpretation
of findings.
Method of Venue Evaluation:
Residents will complete a brief evaluation form on a yearly basis
assessing the quality of feedback, availability of materials,
location and suggestions for change.
Feedback: Current feedback is
interactive, given at time of presentation.
Methods of article appraisal are reviewed in the Evidence Based
Medicine course.
