Schedule:
Days: ½ day per week, 1-5:00 PM Monday thru
Friday (unless post call, on Critical Care Medicine rotation or
vacation)
Nights: Upper level resident of
the inpatient service is responsible for covering after hours
patient phone calls. Proper documentation of these calls must
be made and placed in the patient chart in a timely manner.

Primary Goals: To learn how to deliver patient care in an ambulatory
setting that is compassionate, appropriate and effective for the
treatment of health problems and the promotion of health. Continuity
of care will be emphasized. To improve medical knowledge regarding
the management of commonly encountered ambulatory problems. To
learn how to evaluate the adequacy of care provided to their patients.
To learn to communicate effectively with patients, their families
and ancillary staff.
Resources: Outpatient office setting with enthusiastic staff
available to assist with the care of patients. A small library
and lab, computer terminals and software are available. Members
of the Department of Pharmacy are available to assist with medication
management.
Method of Resident Evaluation: Evaluation forms are completed
by the Attending physician quarterly
Method of Venue Evaluation: Resident will complete evaluation
forms on annual basis in regard to adequacy of patient mix, quality
of teaching, volume of patients and feedback given.
Feedback: The assigned generalist faculty will provide feedback
quarterly detailing performance, deficiencies and areas for improvement.
