Curricular Area Worksheet
- Curricular area: list the curricular area, i.e. pulmonary medicine
- Location: a list all the locations in which the learning experience
occurs. Include inpatient, outpatient, ancillary sites, procedure
rooms, etc.
- Faculty: a list of all involved faculty
- Schedule: Days- list the usual schedule
Nights- list any night duty
- Related Conferences/Venues: a list of all venues which are directly related to this area
- Primary Goals: this includes the overall FICM-like goals that should be achieved in this curricular area; this also includes the ACGME core competentcies that are to be addressed in this curricular area
- Primary Objectives: this is a list of the specific points that a resident should learn under this curricular area; i.e. management of acute myocardial infarction
- Supplemental References/Suggested readings: readings that relate to the primary goals and objectives above and are of appropriate length and coverage of the material to be known by an internal medicine specialist
- Procedures: a list of all procedures which are likely to be encountered during the rotation; indicate if any are required to successfully complete the curricular area
- Research Opportunities: a list of opportunities available in this area
- Method of resident Evaluation: a description of how residents will be evaluated in both a subjective and objective manner; examples include written exams, oral exams, clinical and evaluation tools
- Method of Curricula area program evaluation: a statement of how this area will be evaluated in terms of meeting the goals listed above
- Feedback: list who will be responsible for providing feedback to the resident and when this feedback will occur
