Dr. Anderson is a board certified in Clinical Genetics and Pediatrics. She received her undergraduate degree (B.S. with high honors, (Phi Beta Kappa) Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA and her medical degree from New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY. She completed an internship and residency in Pediatrics and a Fellowship in Human Genetics at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in Farmington, CT.
Dr. Anderson has been a Clinical Geneticist at the UT Developmental and Genetic Center and an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics since 1991. Her primary appointment is now within the newly re-organized Department of Medical Genetics.
Dr. Anderson is a member of the AMA, a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, a Fellow of the American College of Medical Genetics and a member of the American Society of Human Genetics. Her practice in Clinical Genetics includes prenatal and reproductive genetic counseling and genetic consultation for pediatric and adult onset genetic disorders.
Dr. Anderson travels to seven satellite clinics to provide genetic services in rural areas. She has also established a Neurogenetics Clinic to provide comprehensive medical genetic services to individuals with inherited neurologic diseases.
