The Division of General Dentistry

Residency Program Application Information

The General Practice Residency Program participates in the Postdoctoral Application Support Service (PASS). Candidates should provide PASS with the following:

  • Transcript and Academic Records
  • National Board Scores
  • Dean's Letter of Recommendation
  • Two Letters of Recommendation from Graduate School Faculty
  • See PASS for more information

In addition to the PASS application, send under separate cover directly to The University of Tennessee Medical Center Department of General Dentistry:

  • Curriculum Vitae or Resume
  • Undergraduate Transcript(s)
  • Small (2"x2") Photograph (Optional)

Criteria for selection to the UT Medical Center program includes:

  • National Board Exam, Parts I and II, scores above national average
  • Placement in top 20% of dental school class
  • Research experience or postgraduate education considered
  • Graduate of an accredited North American dental school
  • Eligible for a state dental license
  • Non-U.S. (excluding Canada) candidates must:
    • Be proficient in the English language
    • Have a U.S. dental license
