The 28th Annual Family Medicine "Update in the Smokies" has a rich tradition of providing new methods and research on diseases and syndromes that the average family physician will see on a regular basis. From consulting past participant evaluations and discussions with our expert presenters, this year's agenda promises a diverse and useful collection of topics for physicians and allied health professionals alike.

With the goal of improving the quality of healthcare,
The University of Tennessee Graduate School of
Medicine Office of Continuing Medical and Dental
Education activities are offered to enhance the skills
and knowledge of physicians, dentists, and other
healthcare professionals at the local, state, regional and
national levels.

At the conclusion of this program the participant should

  • Understand the advantages and difficulties of
    implementing electronic medical records in
    primary care offices
  • Provide care for newborns and women with contraceptive needs
